THE SKY PROJECT
Dynamic sky luminance map
The Sky Project has been set-up as a long-term initiative to support research in the areas of daylight and architectural design and in building and urban solar design and analysis. The project will also work with partners to support innovative integrated building solar technologies.
The project aims to make available to the research community quality data to support research and development. It is an extension of the UII Built Environment Laboratory in collaboration with UCD Architecture. At present a new outdoor laboratory is nearing completion and together with the BEL hemispherical artificial sky, photometric and other equipment it represents a unique facility in Ireland.
In addition to providing quality monitored data, the Sky Project also seeks to develop new methods of monitoring, measuring and representation of daylight and solar data to better support and inform building, urban and technology design.
